hi I'm trying to get an idea of what color should I go with I was thinking either black or white here's a pic of my bike that I wanna put it on I'm only going from the Header to about the middle clamp

I've heard someone say their muffler started blueing after they wrapped their header

I think they had a dyna, that shouldent happen to the stocker tho...

If you get white.....be aware that it won't be white very long.

Here is white after about 2 years.And this bike got rode hard and put up wet and not cleaned much.

Did u use exaust paint over the wrap I heard it helps to keep the color

Did the black hold its color better and do u think it would fit with the way the bike looks

I cant speak for Demin re: the black holding its color, but on a black bike? Id say go for it,, It Is black, innit? Pictures can fail to show exact color, I guess it could be a dark blue,,
But, Id expect the wrap to stay black,,& If it didnt, you could shoot some High Temp black at it, couldnt you?

Yes I was planing on putting ht paint on it n yes its one of those looks black n when the sun hits it the right way its dark blue

I wrapped mine years ago and hi temp sprayed them. The black sorta faded over the years (never washed my bike) but the wrap is holding pretty well.

This probably aint gonna help but here goes anyway. I think your bike looks really good without any wrap, and it will look even better when the header turns a nice shade of gold or blue.

But if your going to wrap it I'd go with black.

Ive never seen one that was wrapped but Ive heard they rust underneath & they stink when wet,

I use to us white but after awhile it turned to a tan colour. I talked to BCB and they said that's normal and continued to say that that's how they make there tanned wrap by heating the white up.

Yeah thats what im seeing alot of but I heard that black will also fade atleast the one from advance auto I wonder if its just a once dye maybe a double die would hold its color better

Buy a spray can of color silicon.You are supposed to keep it sealed,so it doesn't rot.
DEI makes it for their wrap.

I wanted mine to look like it had been ramblin' down some long rusty roads (road that's a funny word row ad row ad) so I wanted a distressed brown or rustic look. I found khaki or copper. the khaki was too light but probably the way to go for that look. Knowing now how it fades I probably would have bought that and frayed the edges a little. Nope I ordered the copper it looked darker in the pics but it arrived looking like a shiny new penny so I shelved it for a later build maybe a steam punk bobber. I ordered white next and it looks great faded. Maybe when I get white walls I will order some more white wrap and hi temp white spray to keep it clean looking for a week or so. That white is super white brand new. Also had an idea about black and white or any color combination layered together. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing a white and black checkerboard pattern on a header just cut notches into each color wrap and interlock them during the wraping process. Definitely a winner ;)

update so I decided to go with the black wrap while I was at it I found I a Dyna muffler and installed it here is how it looks
