Title: Truck bed liner paint for crankcase covers
Post by dhabicht1 on 06/10/14 at 08:14:16

Has anyone tried this?  I have some Rustoleum bed liner paint I was thinking about using for the clutch cover and stator cover but was wondering if it will get to hot for the paint, of course I will sand and prime with self etching primer first.

I doubt it would handle the heat.... but, I would be more worried about it insulating the cases and raising engine temps...

Your bike is air cooled... :-?...

the crankcase covers don't get hot enough to burn the paint, I've used regular auto-body paint on lower engine parts without problems

Yeah, it'd be great for someone riding in the rain and snow.
