2 questions

1. what is the Cone filter Part Number(s)? and Mfg's.
thinking of ditching the tub of a airbox, Tried the POLY-NU FOAM trick seems ok !!!!

2. if the airbox is removed, then the battery has to be secured or moved.

The chrome battery box is secured to the frame by 4 bolts and rubber grommets at the bottom of the box. It does not connect in any way to the airbox. Your chrome box can remain when the airbox is gone.
