Title: Another Rotella T Beleiver
Post by wickedbiker on 05/25/14 at 15:10:02

I just want to say that I have had 3 different oils in my bike since I started here and the most recent today was the Rotella T 15w-40 and it is every bit as awesome if not more so than everyone here has said.

One of my first posts here was that my bike had a very bad clank noise with idle/throttle also no matter how much I made adjustments I always had a sewing machine or ticking or whatever noise, noise and more noisy engine.
I just added this stuff and it literally sounds like a brand new bike. In other words no sound at all other than a sweet sounding engine.

My biggest mistake is that I didnt listen sooner in the last 2-3 months I have been here. Thats why I added this thread.

Here is the before video where I had knocking and ticking. I'll add the new one here soon.

Your bike sounds great!
I was looking to changing up my oil, think I'll give Rotella a try!
Dig the radio in your video, any problem with your battery when running the radio?

In the manual for my Sportster,... it recommends "Harley" brand oil, of course...  ..but it says, if you must, in a pinch, use another oil... use a good diesel oil...

Sorry, Harley...
I'm gonna' trust Shell Rotella over yer' Harley hogwash...
;D...

It works well and is a good value.  I use it in my motorcycles, diesel tractor, lawn mowers.....and my car.  I have done the expensive oils and they worked fine - but I am in the learning process for my retirement and trying to spend less when possible.  Rotella T seems to be a very good oil at a very affordable price....What's not to like?

No never had an issue. I hooked the positive and negative wires to the tail light wires under the passangerbseat where they butt connect and the radio switches off with the key. Just in case I forget to turn it off at the switch. Never had an issue with it. It works great. Matter of fact I hooked the volt meter up while running the radio full blast with the bike running and there was no power loss at all. I ran it for about 15-20 minutes
