I will start of by saying that this question is in regards to a 1997 Suzuki savage. Behind the right foot pedal there are two cables. one is the brake cable and one is the brake light switch cable. the brake light switch cable is a two piece assembly. the electric half and the mechanical half. My cable for the rear brake light switch broke on the mechanical half where it attached to the swivel connection behind the right foot pedal. I have looked all over online for a new one and have had no luck. I have looked at many exploded views of that part of the bike from oem suppliers and it does not exist on 'paper'. yet i have looked at other savages on the streets and they all have the same design. can someone tell me where i can get a new cable.

unfortunately, no, it does not help. i do appreciate the help just the same though. this is the same exploded view i have looked at from several other sources. it only shows the brake cable, not the brake cable and the brake light switch cable. thanks again though

Yep....this one is a surprise. It took me a long time to find it.

Go look at the handlebar page in the parts list.

thank you. that is the part. part #11. i never would have checked the handlebar parts list for a foot related cable.
