Title: Front Foot Pegs Size
Post by Beagle on 05/21/14 at 07:35:21

Does anyone know the size of the mounting hole on the front foot pegs?  I'm trying to locate some new pegs and I want to make sure they fit.

A friend of mine gave me some of his old Harley chrome pegs but they are a little too small for the bolt to go through it and I can't make the hole larger (I tried using a dremel and it didn't make a dent!)

It's a little bigger than Hardly Driven which is probably 3/8"
So I'm guessin' it's 10mm give or take a mile.

:-?

But the threads are smaller.

These guys on ebay have some pegs that are already drilled. A little pricey but easy.

Yeah, their pegs are pretty expensive but thanks Al!

I went to a hardware store and found the right size screw for the pegs and was able to put my friends's Harely's ones on but they are very loose.  They also don't have that "hook" on the end of peg.  Is that hook really needed?

Yep, that "hook" is the downward travel limiter. If you shim the sides of the pegs with wave washers (or even plain washers) you can eliminate most if not all of the play. AND keep the pegs almost where they belong. Take the pegs (new and old) to any welding shop. Show them the difference and get a quote to have a tab added to the bottom of your new pegs. Not going to cost very much, I'd do it for a 6 pack...
