I have removed the OEM air filter from the air box and now have my amp to my stereo in the air box. I am using a screen type homemade pod air filter. My question is what is the tube for from the engine to the air box and since I have made that mod should I tie it off or add a filter to it or what. I am suspecting that because it is just sitting in the air box without the filter it is affecting something, tuning or whatever. I do have some bogging when I let off of the throttle and I know it is not the jetting or anything else because I have been over adjusting and tuning this bike several times

Maybe, sorta' true...
...but, if yer interested in gaining 1% more power... you'd do better to,
... leave off the second burrito...
... or clean the bugs off yer' helmet...
... or add 1lb of air to yer' tires...

No consequence...
...but, you do need to let the crankcase breathe...
On our bikes,.. 1% = 1/3 of 1 HP...
;)...

I can add that by just thinking fast... ;D...

I have a filter in the mail along with some graphics for the has tank

And I have a 100watt Pyle and it works great, I installed the power to the brake light on the back fender under the seat. I just added it to the connectors so I did have to cut any wires. I forget to turn things like radios and petcocks off so I had to have the power controlled by the switch. It works great had of hooked up ever since I've had the bike and no problems.

Oh, gotta love those corporate marketing bullsh*t "Watts". They are so creative in their specs these days. If you tossed some REAL WORLD FIVE watts towards those speakers, they would just say POP and die. But: if it sounds good, it probably IS good.

(100 REAL Watts of audio would require about 200W of supplied juice, which is probably about double what your alternator is good for)

Oh, and those tiny speaker cables... if you ran more than FIVE watts through them, they would melt. No manufacturer in his right mind runs any amount of wattage through tiny coaxial cable...but then again - I am not critizising your setup or choice of system, just doubting the numbers. :)

Dude those speakers are 100 watts trust me they are awesome and very very loud. Look em up on YouTube and amazon at the reviews trust me they bare well worth the $50-$60

"dude"...well..call me what you want, but 100 true audio watts will peel wallpaper from the wall. The speakers you have may be loud, but....

And those ittybitty cables don´t take even five watts before melting. And..like I said - I am just sceptical to the numbers and the marketing BS (read up on the term PMPO), I don´t critizise your choice of sound system, so relax, ok ;) If you like it, it´s cool. Enjoy!

( I have played, served and built a few true 100W amps in my life, anyone of those would blow you out of the saddle and render you with permanent tinnitus to boot)

Hey...what ever happened to quoting output in average RMS power at xxxxhz into xohms anyway? You could actually compare output that way.

This PMPO biz is for the birds...peak measured power output...into a dead short for a millisecond (or less in some cases) with the amp blowing. How's that help you compare output between systems?

I read a formula for finding quasi-real output from PMPO somewhere. It was something along the lines of take the square root of the quoted output then divide by 2 to get actual average RMS output.

Not picking on your sound system, dude. If it sounds good and you enjoy it, that's what counts. Beware of the noise ordinances in some jurisdictions. We just had a town close to me pass one where if your radio can be heard more than 20 feet from your vehicle, you are breaking the noise ordinance. 1st offence $100, 2nd $500, 3rd confiscation by the court. I'm picking on the manufacturers who rate things like this to get great looking high numbers that can't be replicated without destroying the equipment.

I've got cracks in my plaster ceiling from my 110w system. My ears have buzzed constantly for the last 20 years from it.

You bet! Because it sounds like 100 watts when you run it! I read somewhere that they can actually make a virtually silent vacuum cleaner but when they test market them people THINK they aren't cleaning as good as a noisy one. So vacuums are purposely made to be noisy so people will THINK they're REALLY SUCKING! And they are....

No chance WD. I kept the beard when I got a job as a high school guidance counselor a couple years ago when construction died in Arizona. My kids called me Mr. Myagi. [smiley=happy.gif] I'm back in construction now and my clients call me Gandalf. The wifey isn't crazy about it but she's a good old gal who loves her man and won't make me shave. I got a keeper. :)
