Title: cheapskate riser
Post by zipidachimp on 05/04/14 at 12:32:04

looking at my new bike, instead of buying short risers, can I just bolt the crosspiece under the handlebar and toss the long bent pieces, ending up with my handlebars sitting on top of the tripletree?  would save me some money. ::)

Bars that low would smack the tank, I think,,

I'd replace the flat bar with my favorite 'flat-track' bar. Any way, the stock bars are way too close, and mirrors are almost useless.

Have ya considered turning the stock risers around? & yea, the mirrors give a guy a look at the shoulders. I know, ya nipped the ripples off.. BUt look at the stock risers, maybe bakkerds, mite help

my preference has always been to get the handlebar clamps(risers) as close to the upper tree as possible and then adjust the reach by choice of handlebar.
My all-time favorite style of bike has been an AMA flat-tracker.
