Title: Intermittent Short
Post by pgambr on 05/04/14 at 10:56:46

So I adjusted the valves and got it running real nice, then the dreaded intermittent short came back.  Last time it was the head light bulb, and after I changed it and everything was good.  It doesn't appear I will be that fortunate this time around.  The head light for the most part only works when everything is turned to the far right.  I changed the bulb, took off the tank, checked wires, turned the handlebars side to side and no luck.  Any thoughts?  As always thanks for you help.

Turn it on, maybe hook a charger up, start moving wires around. Id probably get the tank off. Youve ( it sounds like) got an intermittent Open,Check connectors, look for wires that have been pinched,

Yep.Check your connectors under the tank.If that's not it,try wiggling the wires right at the steering neck with key on.Probebly a broken wire. But you might not see it.It could be broken inside the insulation.
