Title: Does anyone have the Mutazu universal batwing?
Post by transam4life on 04/23/14 at 22:22:49

I love the look of batwing windshields and am thinking of putting one my S40. I know of a member on here who posted pics of the memphis shades one. It looked nice but I felt that it was a bit on the large size for our bikes...plus they are quite expensive. So I found the universal one from Mutazu. I was wondering if anyone has installed one...I would love to see some pics.

I have a Memphis Shades Batwing fairing that is currently on my 750 Intruder. I tried the fairing on my S40 (it uses Memphis Shade fork mounts). While the fairing looked good on the S40, the bike did not like having that big sail on the front, the bike struggled past 65 mph with it on (in windy conditions). Here is a picture of the Memphis Shades fairing on the S40.

I like small shields, but I live in a warm place  ;)
My dad's bike had a large shield similar to the batwing, hated it

I live in Arizona so maybe I shouldn't get it after all. Although the mutazu one I believe is much smaller than the memphis shades batwing. I saw one on a honda rebel and it looked good.

Does anyone know if I can tint the stock windshield?  Maybe I'll just keep that.

I remember riding in new mexico and Arizona back in the early eighties going across open expanses of desert on a bike with a fairing and without (we rented some from a place right off base).

Even though the one with the fairing made you sweat more, you were spared a lot of the "furnace blast" in your face coming off the pavement.

And riding the one without the fairing you were dry because the hot air would dry off your sweat as fast as you would bleed it out. But a lot of windburn was involved.... LOL we both had "raccoon eyes" after our trip.
