Title: MPG on Prime
Post by Sketarius on 04/23/14 at 16:05:48

Recently ordered a new Raptor Petcock which is late in being delivered, and I have been running the bike on Prime just to get to run without stalling at stops. I just kind of wonder what significant mpg i lose doing this. I understand I won't be able to use the reserve tank, but this is all i can do until i get that petcock in the mail.

No difference... a petcock of any kind will make no difference to mpg in any position...
...unless you have it shut off... ;D...

Prime just means you have no reserve,, run it out,, yer afoot..

If your current petc0ck is leaking fuel through the vacuum line, you might see a small increase in fuel economy due to all the gas going through the carb once it is installed.

You will have a reserve once the Raptor is installed.  It's just not quite as large as the stock reserve.

Most likely though, you will just see it run better and without fuel starvation or flooding at low speeds.
