Title: Not too much longer...  PICS UP
Post by runwyrlph on 04/17/14 at 05:56:19

I'm gonna spend the AM on the salvage.  Hope to get 'er ready for a Reconstructed Title inspection.  I think the main thing now is putting some stuff back together.  It aint perfect looking, but as my shop teacher used to say, "Well, that's good enough for the girls we go out with!"

I need to take pics for the state re-title form; I'll try to stick them up later.

Changed my handle back, too.   ;)

I noticed the changed handle just a few minutes ago and wondered if you were back up to speed. I guess it is about to be riding time up there again! Woo hoo!

A few of the "There, I fixed it" repairs I made: ;)

This peg was bent- sliced off the rubber, cut out the middle of the peg, welded in a piece of bolt.  "Now, how can I keep that rubber piece on?"

"Oh yeah, sure JOG.  Like you could do better?!?"   ;)   You can hardly even see the spot where the dent was.

"Well, if it worked for the bent footpeg..."

The white was one of the better colours, hope you are out enjoying it soon.

I agree ... the S40 looked great in white; as opposed to some other motorcycles that don't do white nearly as well ...

I mean no disrespect, but I would be looking on EBAY or a bike wrecker for a rear brake lever. If you can weld, your skills far exceed mine. I accept that there isn't too much load on the lever, buut.

Hey, at least I didn't use any actual duct tape!!

(I tried that once, when some dummy broke my stock rear sigs - it didn't pass inspection)

I would probably get a pro to weld on the frame, but I'm not too worried about the brake lever.  Dave was kind enough to offer me one already, but I'm just that way sometimes!
:)

I think I put the front fender on backwards -  have to fix that too

I'm maybe not done with the tank - might try to get colormatched paint and repaint the whole tank...

I agree, the prl white was far and away my favorite color for what they had in '07.  A few of the new 2 tone paint schemes look pretty nice too.

I called the enhanced inspection place, He said "the paint don't matter none",... technically he may have meant that the paint matters a great deal   :-?

Well the offer still stands......just in case the inspector doesn't like your current one.  You can even have it if you just decide to keep it as a back up! ::)
