Title: sportster highway bar Post by YoungSavage on 04/16/14 at 13:58:49 Hey all, I was just on a stroll and saw an Hd sportster (newer) with what looks like their stock highway bar. Funny thing it looks like it simply uses a single bolt at the top to secure it to the frame. Anybody tried to put one on a savage instead of our tiny stock bar? YS |

Title: Re: sportster highway bar Post by YoungSavage on 04/16/14 at 15:49:41 Sorry didn't explain the lowers. I figured it would be assumed that they would attach to the peg portion of the bike. So attachment points are both pegs and one bolt near front of gas tank on the frame. |

One of my friends is absolutely appalled at the idea of cutting up an "original" 50s crash bar... it was $20, from a salvage yard, and doesn't have any factory coding numbers... I will have to heat and bend the shifter and brake arms a touch, and probably slide the floorboards back an inch or two for clearance, but... the stock accessory bar is a farce and the Wingerline is not only expensive, it's fugly. |

I got it from a friend out west, was fixing it up, we ended up having to move back to TN... So the bike went back to my friend's place (against his wife's wishes)...
