Title: Stuck carb needle? Post by savagerider87 on 04/09/14 at 09:26:52 My bike is pouring gas out of the carb vent tubes. Tried to start it yesterday and it was flooded... Is the needle the culprit? (I have gutted the stock petcock.) |
Title: Re: Stuck carb needle? Post by curmudgeon on 04/09/14 at 09:57:43 I had that exact thing happen to me, and it was a stuck needle. I've heard where others were able to get it to function correctly again by tapping on the carb body or bowl, but that didn't work for me. I did a teardown and re-seated the needle. Problem solved. |
Title: Re: Stuck carb needle? Post by verslagen1 on 04/09/14 at 09:59:33 You replaced it with a raptor or could you be more specific? You either have a stuck float or a bad float valve (sometimes referred to as a needle... but not really) give the carb bowl a rap with a plastic handled screwdriver for immediate rectification, or you may need to go in there and find out what it is. |
