Title: Lost keys... Options?
Post by MarcosS40 on 04/03/14 at 14:20:13

I can't find my keys.  Can a key be made at the Suzi dealer using the VIN? If not, how do I get the locking gas cap off. I can easily wire a toggle for ignition, but the gas cap is another matter.

Hate to have to buy a new Lock set. Cheapest I found was around $190.00.  And I still have to get the old gas cap off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There should be a small sticker on the rear side of the ignition with I believe 6 numbersand letters. Then for $25 tthere's a guy on eBay you give him that code and hell cut you a set. I did this myself the bike I bought had no keys.

Thanks to all who responded. Sorry for not getting back to this sooner. It's been very busy lately.

As it turned out there was NO key code sticker on the ignition switch. Thanks so much to the previous owner who removed it...  >:( May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your shorts!

I disassembled the switch and took the lock portion to ACE locksmiths here in town and they had the proper key blanks, and fitted a new key to the lock for $32. I also had 2 more spares made just in case.

Thanks again for all your help. Happy Riding!
