Title: Cheap Parts That Work

Gents:

I did a couple of mods that were really cheap and make a big, big difference.  I got a dyna muff for $26 and it really stretched out the 5th gear.  I also got a set of 93 VS800 intruder rear shocks for $37 and they were an exact fit.  If you aren't aware they add 2 more inches of travel.  Just thought I mention it, both work wonderfully.  I wish I would have done both years before.

:)

That is great info. I've been wanting to lift my fender a bit but don't want to go the progressive route just yet.
Is it only the 93 VS800 that fits or do other years as well?
Thanks

With how much you've raised the rear end, do you need a kick stand extension like the one that ToesNose showed?

Yeah, it leans over bit more, it doesn't bother me to much though.  The exhaust doesn't hit the rear break adjuster bolt directly, so it won't be covered in as much crud.  The only other thing I'm curious about is how much reserve I'll have left.  All in all, it is great!

Replacing the white spacer with three small washers made a huge difference in the midrange power. I wish I did that day one.

I also raised the front of the seat 1" with a home made spacer. That made a nice difference.
