Title: Brake/clutch lever compatibility? Post by schleppy on 03/28/14 at 09:57:48 Does anyone know if the brake/clutch levers from any other Suzuki (or other brand bike) will fit on the LS650? I'm going to try something and want to know what my replacement options are. Thanks! |
Title: Re: Brake/clutch lever compatibility? Post by Dave on 03/28/14 at 11:04:21 Well, it is kind of a trial and error process. You need to find a brake lever that has a 1" handlebar (cruiser) and the same size master cylinder bore and runs a single piston caliper if you want to keep things the same. If you get a different size or different leverage ratio lever....the brake feel will change. For the clutch you again need a 1" diameter handlebar, and a somewhat long clutch throw. I changed my handlebars to 7/8" and I initially used a clutch lever from a Honda motocross bike - and discovered the clutch lever did not provide enough cable pull and it would not disengage the clutch entirely. I ended up using a 2001 GSXR 600 clutch lever. For my front brake cylinder I used a Honda TRX 400ex master cylinder. This was designed for 2 front brake cylinders on a quad.....and the lever pull ended up taking a bit more strength I believe. |

When I wanted to do that I took my lever off and went to a local repair shop that is not a dealer. They have a whole wall full of levers and I just kept looking at levers through the clear plastic covers until I found one that worked. |

Title: Re: Brake/clutch lever compatibility? Post by batman on 04/30/20 at 20:33:02 There's no need to replace them if their just bent, rub a bar of soap on the bend and heat until the soap turns black and bend them back ,and allow to cool. |
