Win the hearts and minds of the people
smack down all the spammers and scammers out there
and maybe a terrorist or 2
then if you listen to a illicit conversation or 2... no one will care.

I have barely been on this site since last September. However, its good to see comments like this. I've been around awhile(born in 1962), and those of us who have - have seen enough to know that much of what goes on around us is not what it seems.

Sadly, it seems that the government HAS been trying to demonstrate how wonderful and useful the NSA is, and how they are on OUR side. The media has been VERY much playing along giving as much good press to the successes of the NSA as they can. I suspect the NSA is so closed minded/system... they can't even let out enough info to generate good press ( or maybe there really isn't any).

As to me agreeing that if the NSA could prove they are successful in their efforts.. then I would be "OK" with the total loss of privacy... er NO. ... and I figure the NSA/government is good with that.

YES, they are close minded system and their is very little press that would be positive in nature. Even if it was positive, they wouldn't want to disclose the dirty laundry of our society. This is in part how the media manufactures consent.
