Title: Carb screws UGH
Post by S-P on 03/22/14 at 16:57:10

Yeppers. Re-jetting the carb and doing the spacers. I got 3 screws on the top to break loose, the 4th started to strip out. So I stopped and I got an impact thingy from Harbor Freight and promptly broke the corner off (I didn't have a bench vise to hold the carb).  Thank God for JB Weld. It might not be pretty when I'm done, but hopefully it'll put gas in the engine. :-/

It'll probably be OK with JB, no pressure there, JB is fuel proof

That IS fuel proof, not fool proof.
& FWIW, I didnt have a vise TILL I made it a point to get one. Theres a reason people have a vise, like any other tool. I now have 2, one old fat clunky thing & a smaller on that twists & turns all kindsa ways. HF has a nice little vise for about $30.00. & when youre working on building something that requires a constant "grind, file, fit" cycle to get it right, stick vise grips in the vise, then you can clip it in & pop it out real quick.
