Title: Finished with my first bike build Post by ChrisTech on 03/16/14 at 16:48:27 After a slow winter at work, I figured I could build a nice bike after looking at others. Want to give a big thanks to David over at voodoo vintage Just need to paint it now |

Title: Re: Finished with my first bike build Post by old_rider on 03/16/14 at 18:29:30 Looks really clean... Lol, but i'm not a fan of the straight pipe... looks like I would burn my butt cheek, a 45% down and away at the end would be my pref.... not putting your bike down... it looks great! |
Title: Re: Finished with my first bike build Post by JRLeathercraft on 03/16/14 at 18:44:46 That is just sweet. |
Title: Re: Finished with my first bike build Post by curmudgeon on 03/16/14 at 19:44:55 If I was going to build a savage bobber (and I hope to some day), it would look just like that. Very nice! |
Title: Re: Finished with my first bike build Post by ChrisTech on 03/17/14 at 05:32:25 Thanks, ok I'll take a few more pics later today, and ya the pipe does cook my tushy pretty good, I may turn it out soon. I also Need a smaller battery so I can fit my electronics slightly better. I used the wiring diagram from the tech section (simplified/chop wiring) and worked perfectly. I've learned everything I know about these bikes from this site. I think I'll be building a cafe savage next...... |

Title: Re: Finished with my first bike build Post by 533clive on 03/17/14 at 10:45:30 Love the look of that buddy....just right!!! Quick question though, do you have any issues with not having the rear engine mounts connected? I only ask as I'm about to hardtail a savage too, and was keen to lay the rear out like you have, but was concerned I needed to keep the rear part of the main cradle to mount the rear of the engine? |

Title: Re: Finished with my first bike build Post by RanDaMan on 05/29/14 at 08:37:02 ChrisTech: That thing is beautiful man! :D You gave a shout out to a guy at voodoo vintage, I was wondering if you went with the "Model 23" weld on kit for the savage or if you used a different/custom hard tail piece by VV? :-? If at all possible could you post a pic of the neck tube/gusset connection area? I'd like to turn my s40 into a hard tail over this upcoming winter and I'm trying to saturate myself with information. Any advice or heads up on troubles you ran into during would also be greatly appreciated!!! :) I cant wait to see this bad boy all painted up 8-) |
