Title: Setting the timing
Post by jasonmrye on 03/02/14 at 15:09:08

I have a 2000 LS650 Savage with 10,145 miles on the clock so, of course, the cam chain tensioner has died. Verslagen was awesome in giving me tips to mod mine so I'm ready to put it all back together now except that I'm not making a lot of sense of the instructions in Clymer's manual. I'm hoping someone can give me some straight-forward, step-by-step directions on how to do this. I've searched the boards but haven't seen anything talking about this specifically. My experience with bikes is mostly riding and frame mods. I can follow directions fairly well and usually have good luck with the Clymer books, just not this time. Help! It may/may not be comfortable riding weather soon!

Thanks, I'll go from there! Any tips for my particular situation? I bought it already torn down assured that all nuts, bolts, etc were there so I'm at a little bit of a disadvantage since I can't do any of the pre tear-down stuff to make it easier on me. Oh well, I got it pretty cheap! Thanks for the links!
