Title: Washer missing?
Post by Michael L on 02/21/14 at 18:43:53

So I was disassembling my fork to change the fluid, and add some lowering spacers.. When I finally got my allen bolts out of the bottom of the fork, I noticed there weren't any washer on my bolt? Figured it would still be sitting at the flange, and took a small screwdriver and tried scraping it out, but still no washer.. Then took a flashlight to see what was going on, and noticed that the flange didn't have that copper color, but was alu grey.. I am 100% positive that I didn't get it out, and somehow got it lost, no washer to see anywhere.. Have this ever happened to any of you guys? Another thing is that im pretty sure that the bolts have never been taken out before, since it only had 14.900 km. on the clock, and the previous owner was a lady. There wouldn't have been any reason for someone to take out the bolt, when it's not required for changing the oil..

Im thinking it must have been missing since the day it left the factory, but there have never been a leak, so it must have been oil tight.. hmm strange thing.. anyway, think im just gonna buy some new washers for the assembly..
