The Savage one isn't model specific. Take the big white boat across the funny tasting puddle, hit up "roached out pieces of monkey s**t", er, Bent Bike, $35 for a new universal type versus $90 or better from the stealership.

FYI, they almost never fail on these bikes. But the decompression solenoid relay... 3 years and counting on that particular work around... got so bored I redesigned the whole bike.

Yes, but more likely it just needs a good cleaning. Pencil eraser like you used to do for slot cars and model railroads.

Yup... Contacts get dirty... switch or relay...
Just take apart and clean them...

Relay's are often sealed, but can be  taken apart with some fiddling... inside looks a lot like old fashioned ignition, contact points.... can't usually get a pencil eraser in those... use a piece of emery cloth and a little wd-40 or rubbing alcohol...

Like they said, clean the contacts in the handlebar switch. I found a bugs had gotten jammed up in mine.
