Title: Rear brake
Post by HoustonBussa on 01/26/14 at 16:38:05

Has anyone ever successfully converted the rear wheel to a disk brake? Crazy idea, I know. Even worse than my handle bar control idea. Just wondering.

Thanks for the info. Sick bike for a show for sure.  Looks like it may be more of a headache than worth. Was just hoping to show off more sexy wheel vs half of it being a drum.

No no no. Convert the front to a vintage dual pull drum and be done with it. Disc brakes are fugly.

Saving up for a rigid frame conversion. Those goofy looking shocks, stubby rear section, and short square backbone have to go. Plans for post stretch include a 4.75 gallon Paughco Mustang gas tank, semi skirted K model front fender and a K model Harley sprung solo seat. Kind of going for the "if Indian had stayed in business and kept their Brit sourced 500 single in production" look... circa 1957 or so.

I like disk. Show off a pretty caliper, plus I can show of a lot more shiny spoke. ;D

But I like whatcha done there.  Can't wait to see the end result! Please keep me posted.
