Title: Finally, finally got myself a cave
Post by strang on 01/23/14 at 12:14:49

Bad photo but this was the first afternoon I spent in here.
Homemade motorcycle table, Ikea hack wrench station.
And finally got my Savage valves done properly.
My never ending XS650 project up there at the moment but gonna finish that this week and then start me Savage build!
Some sh*t can't be done in car park  ;)

Ive never seen a tool caddy like that. Did it start out life as a tool caddy or is that re-purposed? Its okay to just sit & stare at the bike & ponder the world. Guys do stuff like that when they have their own place/

thanks for comments - sorry for late reply, we experienced some flooding on the weekend. Joy. Won't complain too much as I've seen what a winter you guys are having.

Tool caddy (sorry but I'm calling it a wrench station!) is an Ikea butcher's block that I kind of hacked around with and got to where I wanted it. put an angled back on it and some sides and some dowels for the sockets and it works pretty well so far.

Chewin at the bit to spend more time in the cave but DIY flooding jobs take priority the other half tells me  ::)

OK....There is some danger in having a "cave", and it is really appropriate that we/you have started to call these work places by that term.

Years ago my car buddies and I started to tease each other about those projects that were being worked on for long periods of time and were either never finished, or once finished they were never seen outside ever again.  We started to call these projects "GARAGE MUSHROOMS" - since they were kept in dark places and never brought out into the sunlight.

So......don't be growing any mushrooms in that cave!
