So... how fast should that road be marked for?
he was going 104 kmh or 65 mph
I imagine a similar road here would be marked for 45/50 mph.
and 55/60 would be a typical speed.
He would have to be half that speed to make any difference.
clearly he saw oncoming traffic and went anyway.
more of a "don't be stupid and the worlds full of stupid people" ad.

NZ open road limit is 100kmph or 62 mph, some rural roads are being marked 80 kmph or 50 mph and some 90 kmph or 56 mph. The person in the opposing vehicle was at a compulsory stop and appeared to believe in the delusion that everyone drives at the legal limit all the time. The reality in this country is that there is a "tolerance" over the legal limit which can vary between 4kmph and 10 kmph depending on the time of year. The 4 kmph tolerance coming in during holiday periods. MOOC our Ministry of Offence Creation would probably want 4kmph all the time. Despite this many people travel at 110 kmph 68 mph a lot of the time on our excuses for freeways and 100kmph rural roads. It must be conceded that the current road deaths for 2013 are the lowest since 1950-54 despite a doubling of the population and a probable 4to 5 time increase in the number of vehicles on the road.

So the reality is the commercial is BS.
4kmh would amount to an inch at that speed.
idiots like that would need a sign down the road saying "if he's past here you don't have enough time to cross"
