Title: Registration fails...any help here?
Post by Bluesman on 01/05/14 at 12:23:05

Hi guys & gals. I started this thread (below) a long while ago about the registration issue we are having:

http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1386861343/12#12

Since then, 18 new members have registered, and that young lady is  still not able to. I can guarantee it´s not a user fault.

You new members, how hid YOU manage to register? Computer, iPAD/similar, phone or what? What OS, what browser?

Anyone looking into this?

can she create a gmail.com address?

Sure. I´ll ask her. Thing is, I tried to register an account for her using my own yahoo.com account (which worked when I registered) but even THAT failed. Things are fishy in Denmark.

Um...is she trying to use some strange name? with characters? Using US standard keyboard settings?  Just askin mind you, sometimes that will stop a piece of software by not having the same set of parameters it will not "report" the same key click.

added this from another post:

That address might in all actuality be blocked, from the server that this forum is housed on.
Other than using characters in a name or an email that cannot be found, the only other alternative would be that the domain address has been blocked from the main server because of spamming issues or some such.
Does she have a "yahoo.com" address?  Have her make one up from your computer and then do the "email confirmation" from that

(I don't think you can use your email address to confirm two identities, unless you give her your password... and that aint' a good thing) But if you can get two identities with your address, do that, then she can go in and change all the information to suit her...password included.

Nope. All those variables are zeroed. No non/extended-ASCII-characters in user name or display name or anywhere. To begin with, she used a hotmail.se mail. No success. I´m at my wits end. 18 people have successfully registered since her last try....I wonder how.

I did get all the info from blues and tried to create an account for her w/out luck.

Naturally, it's been a long time since I've last made an account, but I did one last year that was successful. (domestic account)

At this point, I can only think that perhaps she's trying to use something already being used.

Hey, what happened to the members tab?   :-?

Not even that. The suggested username is not listed under members. It doesn´t contain spaces or anything outside of the standard charset. *puzzled*

I´m just wondering how our newest members actually did their registration - without hickups, it seems.

Ok... can a someone create a new identity and pm you the account info and then have her change the personal information?

Not sure that would be legal, but worth a try maybe? How about you create an identity with your info, then have her log in with it and change the information to her identity? If you are personally ok'ing it, I don't see how that would break any rules.

Worth a try?

Hope this helps  :)

Sure. So: anyone who has successfully registered an account here in the last 2 weeks is welcome to send me a PM to get  the young lady´s details.

Once created (and verified by the original email address + activation link), the account will change email and password. Should be good enough. Thanks in advance for your help. The lady is eager to participate here. New license, first bike a Savage. Get it?

Any takers? Any objections, for that matter?

;)

Sorry Bluesman,.. I just created an @mail account and tried to register from there. but no good...

SS.Com did send a registration verification e-mail to the address, but clicking the link to verify got this error message...

Quote:
Error: This user was not pre-registered or the allowed time span of 24 hours expired!

I have no idea what's wrong...
I can only say, keep trying... maybe it will be corrected...
Perhaps a temporary site host problem?...

Ok I created an account for my wife using chrome. Then switched over to her browser Firefox and click the link in her email, and I got this...

Your account is not approved by the Administration yet
As soon as your application has been reviewed you will receive an e-mail confirmation on your application status.

Up date... Error: This user was not pre-registered or the allowed time span of 24 hours expired!

Just send me a list of names she would like, I could give it a go.  I'll see about creating one of her names, get it verified via yahoo.com address and then pm you the account info for her to change it to.

I will even do a test run first post.... to make sure its up and running.

Read your PM.  All you need to do send her the log-in information.  She can change her display name, and I even gave her a new e-mail that cannot be traced.

Bluesman:

I think that someone created the new Ingrid650 for you......and it appears that Paladin may have set up a new account as well.

Let's hold up a bit until Bluesman or Ingrid650 checks in and updates us.
