Title: RSD Vintage Moto bars
Post by Ls6500 on 12/24/13 at 08:31:42

Hey peeps

I recently bought some narrow dragbars for my savage(aprox. 73cm).
They ofcourse wouldn't clear the gastank.. I've found some sweet bars from Roland sanders design, but they are quite narrow and low in height aswell, but what do you guys think, would they clear the tank???

This is the ones:

I have been thinking of using risers, but I must admit I really dislike the look...

The only other option than raising the bars above the tank....is making the steering stop more restrictive.  I did that on my Cafe' bike.....and the only problem occurs when you want to turn the bike around on a narrow road, or around in the garage.  During normal riding it is not an issue.  I did try to ride my bike around the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Course one day when they were not open......and found my bike does not turn sharp enough to stay within the lines on their course.

Yup. My wife is learning to hate the restricted steering stops on her ducati. Is such a PITA to turn in the driveway.

Yes I'm also afraid that the steering stop solution will give me trouble, and maybe in traffic, which could be dangerous, and at the same time I don't find it easy to do neither.. I think I like these kind of bars better than the drags anyway.. Hopefully the rise on those vintage in the center, will make my controls clear the tank without having to tilt them forward too far..

Have you ever seen Laverda Jota bars? They're adjustable and might work if you mount them upside down. They'd be 7/8" so would need a sleeve to make them fit nice...Just a thought.

Thanks Gizzo, but the control units are also 1 inch so then they wouldn't fit
