Title: Installing Savage LS650 handlebar on S40 Boulevard
Post by Afan on 11/16/13 at 22:20:58

I bought Savage handlebar and I was trying to install it today and found that the risers are to long (or the wires are to short) and I need shorter risers. So, Savage risers are ok or there is better solution?

You will most likely need to get the older style (buck horn) cables as they are different than the cables for drag bars. As far as risers, you can use savage risers or take the S40 risers apart and mount the clamp directly to the triple tree (will need different bolts)

The cables designed to go with those handlebars. They are longer.  You'll also probably have to do something about the wiring length.

I don't remember for sure.  It's on here somewhere.  The cables for the pull-back handlebars are either 4 or 6 inches longer.  I don't know about the wires but, I bet they are longer too.

I thought they were longer than that.  Oh well, learn something new every day.

That just reminded me of something a relative told me.  "You can learn something new everyday and still die dumb."
