Title: Leaking fuel cap Post by twelveport on 11/14/13 at 19:53:26 My locking fuel cap leaks. Dealer wants $85.00 for a new cap, says that no new rubber seals offered. Any ideas? |

Have a careful look at the crown of the hole in the tank,, see if its flat or not.. Use a piece of glass.. If all that is already done, then take the cap apart & shim with a thin, fairly rigid plastic piece to make it seal tighter. I did all 3. |
Title: Re: Leaking fuel cap Post by twelveport on 11/14/13 at 21:43:31 I reversed the rubber seal, have not rode it yet to test. Not sure what "og tube" is? It has leaked with only 1/2 a tank of gas when I hit a man hole cover. I will try shimming if this does not work. Thanks! |
