It is not uncommon for stroke vitcims whose brain has been damaged ( and generally is in a continuing decaying state) to present exceptional bouts of creativity. The creativity may or may not reflect talent or savant level abilty. However, it is well documented of persons suffering brain damage ( such as stroke) to go through a driven and creative existance, otherwise not part of thier normal personality. Often it is short lived, and passes.

Odd bit I picked up somewhere.. I think one of the TED talks.
