Title: 11.5 inch rear shocks?
Post by SavageDiver on 11/07/13 at 02:47:16

Hey all,

I am trying to finish up a bobber build, I'm in need of guidance in regards to installing 11.5 rear shocks in my build.

Question is , will i have to worry about nothing else adjustments so nothing will rub on its new height?

Does anyone have nay pic?

Thanks

I installed 11.5" shocks without any problems with clearance.  My swing arm bearing were a little stiff with old grease and the swing arm had to be pushed down vs. dropping down with gravity but everything worked fine.

I have the stock rear wheel, belt, and use the stock tire size.

The extra travel is wonderful because my back couldn't handle the frequent bottoming out of the stock shocks.  Also it steers a little quicker with the raised rear end which I think is an improvement.  In terms of appearance there is no noticeable change.

Here's a pic w/11.5" "progressive" shocks, they raise the bottom edges of the fender almost an inch above the stock tire. I will try a 150/90-15 & dont think I will have any clearance issues especially since I took off the side rails & turn signals!
