Post by Ap5112 on 11/03/13 at 07:52:42

Question been looking at this so called raptor petcock that will work for our savage my question is I see where the fuel line connects but where does the other line connect there looks as if there's no spot for it?

That's the point... no vac line is needed... You just cap off the tap on the carb...

Dont cap the bents, just the vacuum line. Many ways to do that. A piece of dowel rod & some contact cement & a tie wrap or 2,,
Fold it up & tie it, put an OOOOfishyal vacuum cap on the carb & ditch the tube entirely,, This truly is one of those " A hunnert ways to skin a cat" moments,

You can get an Official vacuum line cap at the Official automotive parts house,, just take the bike, or at least the vac line. Mite be on the Help rack,, if not, a parts guy will know,,get more than one, they dont last forever,Carry one with ya in your tools or taped inside the tool bag area,, whatever makes ya giggle,,

Im a big fan of taking what I want with me,,Ive never seen anyone need to replace the vent lines,,

The fuel line is 5/16"....the vacuum line is smaller.

Yes I figured it out the vent lines are 3/16 and the cap for the vacuum is 3/16 as well

Serowbot, I used a vacuum line cap and a small clamp from Auto Zone, but noticed you said later they would deteriorate. After about 1 1/2 yrs mine was cracked and crumbling as you said. Problem was, I was in a hurry and had another one still in my parts bin, so yeah, I kinda used another one. Sometimes you just can't help folks like me.  ;D
