It's a toss up for me... both from a local brewery http://www.portneufvalleybrewing.com/  8-)

either
Twisted Stick Amber Ale - An American amber ale featuring a malty character with assertive caramel flavor, low bitterness and a medium body.

or

Belligerent Ass Nut Brown Ale - Blended from six types of malted barley and two varieties of hops, making the nut brown one of the richest and most well-rounded of our beers.

Maker's Mark.
Yes, I know it is not beer, but until they make a beer that is just like bourbon, it will do.

Good hunting

Currently? As in I'm in the USA, land of crappy whiskey and watered down garbage pseudobeer?

Diet Coke. Or coffee. Will have to occasional PBR or bottles Coors while working on the bikes/trucks/cars.

If I was still in Europe? Pretty much anything out of Belgium, Holland or Germany. Or proper Spanish made San Miguel, NOT the Mexican or Filipino made garbage that is full of formalin...

You clearly have not been sampling the many, many microbrews and up and coming brewerys that have been pioneered in the last decades. If you like Belgium beers try something from Alagash (ME) like the Alagash white, Just sayin.

As for me, its a toss up between Abita (LA) Amber and the slightly heavier New Belgium (CO) 1554. Both are remarkable and unique and quite different from each other so I cant decide on just one.

Best taste, Lucifer (http://www.hetanker.be/Brouwerij/AlOnzeBieren/Lucifer/tabid/70/language/en-US/Default.aspx) -- only $4.50 a bottle (http://www.totalwine.com/eng/product/lucifer-golden-ale/10469134).
If I am feeling English, the original Bitter, Fuller's  ESB, just under $2 a bottle. (http://www.bevmo.com/Shop/ProductDetail.aspx/Beer/Imported-Beers/Fuller-s-Brewing-Company/Fuller-s-E-S-B/_/R-4-1647)

But favorite for actual daily drinking, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, under a buck a bottle (http://www.totalwine.com/eng/product/sierra-nevada-pale-ale/8155128).

We can't even buy full strength generic domestic swill unless it is bootlegged in from Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama or some other state. Maximum allowed alcohol content is 6.5%, but nobody carries much over 5.5 to 6.1 most of the year. Around Christmas Whole Foods will get one pallet of undiluted German beer. Even Guinness here is watered down, you can see through it.  :'(

Micro brews? In west TN? Closest thing to that is the mash before you run it through the still...

Used to enjoy exotic dark beers, now and then... Since I no longer invest in alcohol (other than the ethanol that's essential to engine destruction) I would have to say that FREE beer would be my current favorite...

I am not a favorite of "heavy" stouts or ales, I am more a fan of the reds or lighter beers.
I do recall I tried a good local brewed in the restaurant we ate in town on the dragon run.
We have a place here called McGuire's Irish Pub here in Destin and Pensacola, they brew some good reds and seasonal beers.
I don't travel out of area much, but plan to start looking for places that are within poker run distance.

Selecting a beer is like selecting a wine- it depends on what you are doing or eating at the time, or even what mood you are in.
My son is quite a connoisseur of the brew, and always brings a couple for me to try. They are usually very good but expensive.
The biggest selling beers in Canada are Labbatt's Blue and Molson's Canadian. They are both awful, but popular with the young crowd. (Blue actually turns my stomach). I worked at the Labbatt's here in London for a while and drank quite a lot of their beer (at that time they would give you one at breaks, two at lunch,[you could get four because they had two cafeterias] and two after work. That is 8 free a day, plus whatever you could sneak off the line, plus whatever I drank at home. I found the beer right off the line tasted much better than what you got at the beer store.
There are just too many for me to try them all (my son is making a valiant effort), but I usually bring two home from the store- Sleaman's Draft, and Sleaman's Porter.

Contrary to popular belief, the Mediterranean is home to some of the best beers around...

...it's just they aren't exported (and before any of you start heehawing, beer is mentioned in the Old Testament... Egyptians and Canaanites brewed beer)

Angelo Poretti makes a number of light, medium and strong ales, since 1877

http://www.eurochocolate.com/perugia2012/wp-content/uploads/chococard/38.jpg

Moretti in Udine, Menabrea in Milan and and Ichnusa in Sardinia are locally well known

... not to mention the small local breweries which have started popping up ...

I love BEER!  Hoegaarden was my favorite when I visited Belgium a few years ago.  I love how they served each beer in its own style "container".
And I do believe we tried them all! But I have to second Pine's choice for an every day drinking beer... Mich Ultra. I drink plenty of Corona too, and still like good ole Bud Light, but I have to vote Ultra.

There's a nice local brewery where we just moved, they make great chicken wings, and they have several of their own brews, but I don't really like any of them.

I go for IPA's as a rule but most of them are a little too bitter after you've had a few (kills your taste buds)...
This particular one is just plain awesome...it reminds me of Troeg Brewery's Nugget Nectar...

Went to dinner at a resteraunt in a nearby town, no beer but we could brown bag.  Stopped at a near by package store and I was in BEER NIRVANA!  Cooler after cooler of boutique beers in 4 packs!  I told my wife I wanted a gift certificate to this place for my next whatever!  Current favorite, Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale!  You're still not worthy!

I'm going to have to agree with you.I used to also be into dark beers ( cuz they would get you sh*tfaced faster ) however now, I'm impartial to any beer. I just rather drink a light beer and try not to put on the pounds.

I do have a soft spot for bluemoon but it's a bit feminine.
