Title: When should I..
Post by rl153 on 10/24/13 at 12:38:20

I've got a 2005 with 6k mi on it. I was thinking I could get another year out of the plug, the bike runs fine. Is there a chance the plug can be very hard to get out,if its never been taken out? Thanks!

Also ,Wheres the link to tank removal? Thanks

The only time Ive seen plugs be hard is when the threads on the plug poke out into the combustion chamber & get carboned up,,
Use anti-sieze going back, Make sure you blow the dirt from around the plug before removal.
If it breaks loose but starts binding up, stop, drizzle penetrating oil in, let it soak, drizzle more, let it soak, screw it back in, start back out, stop if youre working more than clean threads passing thru clean threads should require,
playin back & forth, back & forth,, beats wreckin threads,

6k miles in nothing on a plug,... but, 8 years?...
I'd go ahead and splurge with a new $2 plug...
It can't hurt...

...and +1, JOG... use anti-seize on the threads.. ;)...
