The 400cc version ihas a shorter stroke, smaller bore, and the wrist pin is smaller.  Some countries tax vehicles based on engine size and the 400cc bike is more marketable than the 650.  I am not sure if there are any countries where both sizes are available.

Post by wambr on 10/24/13 at 08:56:36 Yes, everything is correct. on this bike engine from the baby Savage 400 ( piston less and stroke is also less), and in the main engines are almost the same. if you guys like the cover, and you can buy them, then there is no difficulty to install them on 650 engine.

So somebody in the Pacific Rim needs to track down one complete set and ship it to me so I can get a set of molds popped and have a few cast locally.
