Title: Helmet Fog
Post by pgambr on 10/22/13 at 16:51:11

I'm fortunate to live in a climate where it is tolerable to ride year round.  Although, I don't want to go through another winter riding where I can't see out of my helmet shield because of the fog.  If you got any thoughts please share them, thanks.

Anti Fog, comes in a bottle. If you're like me it could be your eyeglasses if you wear them. I apply it on my glasses too.

I've also learned to exhale blowing downward through the mouth when stopped a lights... it helps some...

I simply lift the visor at the lights, and pull it down again after shifting into 2nd gear.

Anyway, I do confirm that most of the time it's the eyeglasses fogging up...
...I lift the visor and it's still foggy !  ;D

You can also smear a very small amount of liquid soap on the inside of the visor which works, try it on your bathroom mirror too  ;)

3/4 shells don't fog over at stops... yet another point in their favor...   ;)

I have this one it still fogs up pretty easily.  Is the shield a bit to long?

Bell makes a good, affordable 3/4 helmet with full-face retractable visor. the Tacoma motor cops use them, and its kind of fun to play "white knight" at stop lights! Flips up and down with one hand, and has taken some 60mph rock hits w/o a scratch.

i found just leaving the visor open a small amount solves any fogging probllem

Avoid mouth breathing OUT, that carries more moisture,
Get a snorkel & wear it pointed down yer chest, then you can breathe in & out & have no fog.
If youre wearing a baliclava it seems to make it worse. Certainly fogs my glasses if its not set up Juuust So.
I like the HJC modular. Just crack the visor to the first click & No Fog,
TRy to fog fighting approaches above, too.
Scuba divers spit in their masks,,

Should I get the snorkel with goggles? Or perhaps I could save a couple bucks and get a big slurpee straw from 711. ;)
