Doing my dyna change out and I noticed one of the header bolts at the flange was pretty loose. When I removed the header it had soot out the loose side. I'm guessing no harm no foul since it runs good, but should I use some type of thread lock on those upon install? Thanks

PS: on my way to the hardware store to buy some stainless bolts to attach the new one. I'll look back in when I get home ;D

No thread lock....none....Nada....Don't do it!

Use some Never Sieze....tighten them only a bit....1/4 inch drive socket with single handed wrist pressure only. Check them every now and then for tightness. Look back at the old posts/threads and see what a hassle it can become to repair this stud/bolt when you break one off.....Not fun!

++1.. never use threadlock on any exhaust bolts...
I always put a dab of anti-seize... ;)...

OK......but now, all installed, I got a squeal like noise when I let out the clutch and give it gas???? Not when I just roll in neutral, what the heck. It almost sounds like a brake dragging, but that would do it when rolling period. Any ideas guys?

Gee.....uh, well golly, it seems I was riding sans helmet and wearing my hearing aids when I tested the muffler under load, and you know what I was hearing???????

The stupid cold belt whine, that promptly went away after I put my gloves and helmet on for a real ride ::)

My son says it sounds a lot better, I can tell, but its not loud at all, just deeper sounding. I can get a little rap when I shift at times, is that an indicator of a leak? I was able to get both bolts attached, I used SS stove bolts that worked great. Of course the front mount does not ride all the way down to the bracket like the rear one because of that angle of the header....
Still, not hard at all to do :D
