Title: Belt cover/guard. Post by jcstokes on 10/09/13 at 23:32:45 Anyone had the chrome belt guard cover crack around its rear support bolt? |
Title: Re: Belt cover/guard. Post by justin_o_guy2 on 10/10/13 at 00:33:56 Ive never heard that complaint. I was riding behind my daughter when she was riding the Savage. I saw the rear fender whip side to side so hard I thot I was seeing things. They do tend to break license plates,, |
Title: Re: Belt cover/guard. Post by jcstokes on 10/10/13 at 01:36:05 Yes JOG2 my plate almost fell off, I ended up gluing and pop riveting it to a piece of thick aluminium sheet, no more trouble there. |
Title: Re: Belt cover/guard. Post by danjray on 10/10/13 at 09:24:34 I've never had a problem with either of those, any idea what causes that side to side whip? |
Title: Re: Belt cover/guard. Post by justin_o_guy2 on 10/10/13 at 09:27:11 Certain RPM & POwer applications I guess. My daughter was spankin on it when it shook like that,,Ive had it happen, I know I did, cuz my plate cracked,, but I never felt it or knew it,, |
Title: Re: Belt cover/guard. Post by danjray on 10/10/13 at 09:34:55 Huh, I guess I'll check my license plate tonight before I jump on to make sure it's still there :o |
Title: Re: Belt cover/guard. Post by MiCTLaN on 10/10/13 at 10:57:53 Is that why my plate is cracked? I thought someone must have run into me while I wasn't around. |
Title: Re: Belt cover/guard. Post by WD on 10/11/13 at 05:51:18 Offset frame, no real side supports to quell the fender vibration. My stock fender itself cracked. The FL rear I run on it now needs a bit heavier rear mount hardware, I've had several bolts shear off since adding that fender in 2006. |
