Title: Gas Tank Noise Post by latony007 on 10/09/13 at 16:06:15 Anyone else Gas tank make a groaning crying noise when its sitting in the garage? It goes off every few minutes. At least I think its coming from the tank. Sounds like a whine or a baby crying in the distance. I assume its air escaping or something but if you take the gas cap off and put it back on it still seems to do it. |

My little Kawasaki ninja moans and groans all the time, it actually has a little rubber valve that lets the expanding gas escape and it sounds like its moaning. Kinda like aawwwwww....lets go out and ride some more..... aaawwwwww. ;D ;D ;D |

LOL, that's exactly what its saying. Leave that sport bike alone and take me out instead! maybe I can lube up the cap or something if there is a valve and it would quiet it. I don't recall it doing that when I first got it but I figured it was the summer heat causing it. |

lol, its def. coming from the tank but that would not surprise me at all. I was just telling someone else about my other bike, it has two models, the regular model sold in 49 states and about every country, and the California model! |
Title: Re: Gas Tank Noise Post by verslagen1 on 10/10/13 at 15:03:08 Cali caps have an inlet, but no exhaust. venting is into a carbon canister then to the carb. I know there's a check valve in the canister that may close when the engine isn't running. causing the mewing. |
