Hope everyone's okay...

There are gonna' be some "Katrina" bikes showing up on Craigslist in the future...
Those are bikes and cars that have been refurbished after being under water...
Lots a flooding nationwide the past few years...
So,.. always check nooks and crannies for caked on mud when you're looking at used bikes...
Don't ever buy a bike or car that has sat in water.
;)...

Hi Bot -
I have a trip planned tomorrow to Boulder and Broomfield areas. I can't even get thru to the hotel where I have reservations, so I'm probably going to bag it unless I can communicate today with someone with "boots on the ground" there and find out for sure what conditions are.
I figure with all of the evacuations and emergency personnel, even having a reservation is no guarantee of a room.

I'm in Denver. Things have been slightly chaotic at times here but nothing like the mountain towns 50 miles away like Lyons, Boulder, Drake, etc.

Boulder's university and businesses are reported to be opening for business tomorrow so it sounds like things are returning to normal. I have a friend who lives in Boulder and her house was within 2 blocks of major flooding on each side of her house but she got spared the damage.

I've been in Denver this summer and actually bought my S40 while I was here for the summer and I've got to drive it back home to San Francisco. I took vacation time and I'm heading out on a 3 week motocamping trip around the southwest and then up the california coast. But right now the big first step is finding a dry day to get across the Rockies! I was hoping to go tomorrow but it looks like I'll be aiming for Tuesday morning instead.

If you are planning on going into the general area around or near Boulder call the Sheriffs Dept. or the local Boulder Police dept. or look online and get the road report. There are several roads out and could cause a lot of turn-around miles and time lost.

The Colordo floods must be pretty bad, they even made the news here in Italy! :-X

This is riding down from Denver to Moab, across Monument Valley to Flagstaff,
then keeping true to "Old" Route 66 all the way to the outskirts of Los Angeles.
Freeway to Santa Monica and Ca. Rt.1 to San Francisco.
