I have a 2005 s40. The side of the engine with the oil filter , there are a bunch of bolts that are horizontal in the silver cover, but right above the oil filter cover there is a boss that is vertical, and on my bike its been filled in with epoxy by the previous owner .I'm curious what was there ,it must have been a bolt, but what was it for ? I'm curious, any help? Thanks!

I took the white goo out of mine when I removed the clear coat and polished up the engine cases. It has never leaked anything and works fine without the white goo.
