Title: Seat Post by ylwf3vr on 09/11/13 at 10:49:42 Just bought a single seat on eBay.. it's from the old Savage. Now, what other modifications do I have to do to get this on there right? I have double seat on there right now.. I'm sure it's not just take the old one off and put this on.. |
Title: Re: Seat Post by misterbbq on 09/11/13 at 12:00:18 i'm not sure either, but you may have to grind off the 'loop' the back seat slides under? my 2005 model doesn't have that loop with the 1 piece seat. |
Title: Re: Seat Post by ylwf3vr on 09/11/13 at 12:23:01 I might have to look.. I would think if i put just a solo seat, the "rear" area will just be open.. not sure how to cover that.. |

That's my biggest question. I was just going to leave it.. seeing old picture on here.. but not sure if that is possible. What options are available to me? |
Title: Re: Seat Post by misterbbq on 09/12/13 at 04:47:18 i'm sorry..i misunderstood. i thought you were going from a 2 piece seat set up to a 1 piece seat off the newer models. yeah..hiding the 'stuff' is the tougher part. though a lot of folks relocate the rectifier and then just put something over the mount holes i think. i wish there were a 'rack' of sorts that would fit directly on there with a solo seat so that area would be useful. something like this: http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRiVLAPL33Ofda58I7r7rWARz7uouw-xujARpbZSTBUq_uBFHALnQ |
Title: Re: Seat Post by Greg on 09/12/13 at 17:42:48 My bike is silver. I used a silver duct tape to tape down the wires then put a fender bib on it to hide it all. Afterwards, i put my saddle bags on there and the pleather from them would hide it as well. |
Title: Re: Seat Post by ToesNose on 09/13/13 at 04:36:02 They make leather covers for fenders to cover left over holes. I made a mount out of wood and fitted a Celtic belt buckle to it to cover the holes left over from the stock tail light, I'm sure a luggage rack could be fabricated to utilize the holes left over from the passenger seat and tail light. Just map it out on a piece of cardboard and start bending metal tube stock! :D http://i792.photobucket.com/albums/yy206/bcrx2/IMG_3846.jpg |
