The America is nice although I prefer the "blacked out" look of the Speedmaster. Just don't like all the chrome. I like most any of the new Triumphs really. And with that "accessory" it's hard to go wrong!

Recently the Brough Superior brand was brought back to life too. This scene looks like a mummy movie to me. The Re-Bonneville is a nice ride but I'd never have in my garage a bike with a fake carburator enclosing an EFI within.

Can you just get the seat cover separately?

I do like the looks of the bikes though.

Shereally is a stunning thing,,

she didn't come with mine when I bought it, maybe I need to take it back to protest. . .

EFI is the only way to go, or just one carb.

I live in a country town of 3,000 in Ms. Guess what we got in town now? The big Rocket three or whatever. Talked to the guy at a gas pump the other day. Bought it on ebay for a song and drove to IN or IL to pick it up. Can't get over the sound. I've seen it several times since he drives it to work. I didn't realize why I loved the engines so until I read a bike magazine recently. It's the 40-50 fasteners used to hold the engine covers on Triumphs like older aircraft. Industrial strength look.   ;)

I really like the Rocket III, but the intake plenum on the left feels awkward to me.  I've considered a Thunderbird Storm on more than one occasion, though.

personal friend of mine Rides a 2010 Triumph Thunderbird 1600 that he bought from National Powersports in NH and had shipped to Nfld. ... absolutely beautiful Cruiser! That massive parallel twin engine is a work of art!

Here's a pic of me sitting on my pal's T-Bird ... apologize for not being as pretty as the gal in the pic above  ;)

That suits you rather well Perry.

I have some other "chicks with Triumphs" pics, but 'bot would have to move the thread to the Tall Table...  ;)

Title: Re: Modern Triumphs... who likes them?
Post by justin_o_guy2 on 09/07/13 at 07:02:51

Well,, IIRC, Perry, youre not a tall guy, right? Arent you about 5'6, 135 or so pounds? I remember the bigger Suzuki was hard on your back, moving it around, BUT, you look to be flat footin that thing..
How does it feel?Im not ever gonna have one, cuz I simply wont DO a bike over 800 CC

I've had 3 of them since 1996. Best built bike I ever stradled. Stainless brake lines, stainless exhaust, beautiful fasteners , great sound. The only negative I found was its a pain in the a$$ to set the valves

I'd post them up over there, but the TT doesn't allow attachments... that should be fixed.  ;)

Here's the nice "seat cover", in color...

Well, about Triumphs... I went to a Harley shop in PA while out on business and saw some amazing Triumph's! I fell in Love with the SpeedMaster. Love That Big A$$ Tank!  :D

I'm 5'-4", 125-130lbs, 29-30" inseam ... and while I can flat-foot my pal's T-Bird, it's waaaaaaaaaaaay too heavy for me ... my current VT750DC Shadow Spirit at 500lbs is at the limit and is only managable for me pulling off side stand, backing up, etc. due to it's extremely low C.O.G. ...

I really like the modern Triumphs. It's great that the name was revived, and done in style. I'm hanging out to see if the new RE Continental GT makes it down under, though.  8-)

If they are shipping with reservoir shocks, do something fun with them. I couldn't ride it, but I like this design exercise.

I think the production ones aren't having the piggyback shocks.

Being an "Old Guy", I remember the Trumpets dominated the flat tracks all thru the midwest. Always liked the styling, but between dripping oil, vibration, and crappy Lucas electrics, it was a no-brainer when Honda made the scene with the 750 Four-less money and a MUCH better bike all around. My Question, now that I've vented: Are they better now? I greatly value actual owners' opinions!

You'll know when I've had enough of the forum, because I'll post the good pics... and get banned. The redhead w/o pants is as risque as I'll put up, for now.

Have a couple great ones of the nude brunette on the Enfield, and another nude (leaves nothing to the imagination) brunette on a Shadow, maybe the cute little topless redhead on the Gilera...

Too many to choose from to be honest about it.

I too was waiting for the RE Continental GT https://www.facebook.com/RECGT

but after seeing its official pics, just makes a Triumph Thruxton look way more substantial !

the only thing weird about it is the fender, and the huge gap to the tires...

I've always had a weakness for redheads (and strawberry blondes!) ;)

that's for performance reasons, as it lean angle and suspension travel and stuff that cruiser riders aren't used to   :P
