Title: Rand Paul
Post by WebsterMark on 09/01/13 at 06:23:48

Watching Rand Paul on Meet the Press. He views obama's strategy as playing for a stalemate and then plans to negotiate Assad's departure. Rand " I'm not going to send my son or your son to war in order to get a stalemate"

Interesting story on Yahoo today about why Russia backs Assad.  Three reasons:
A vital seaport, the massive Russian financial investment in Syria, and the most interesting:
Nothing good comes of regime change in the Middle East or other Muslim countries.
Libya, Iraq, Egypt are all chaotic after the recent regime changes, and were stable before.  Why risk another mess.
Frankly, I agree with Putin.

Russia supports Assad for the some monetary reasons for sure,  but right now, Putin support Assad as a way to tweak Obama without a direct confrontation. Obama played right into his hands.....

I don't believe in any war unless we are attacked. If we are attacked go after the right country, not the one with the oil. Am I supposed to shoot my neighbor because one day he might decide to punch me.
