The trees, they notice the great sidereal shift and they begin to steal the chloroplasts back out of them now yellowing/golding dogwood leaves ..... and they store the energy in the root systems. It ain't the cold that always does it (unless there is a sudden early hard frost) it remains for the daylight shift to signal the color change. Look close at your dogwoods .... |

My arthritic knee sure feels better with the warmth than the cold that is to come. I have noticed in the past couple weeks, the leaves starting to turn and fall. Today it was again in the 80's and perhaps our last for awhile. Cooler temps and rain in forecast for tomorrow evening and much of the next week. :( It is that time of year to start realizing my riding season as far as warm temps is coming to a close. :( Goodbye Summer, I will miss you.. kim |

It was 66 on the way home. Rather chilly at speed. Looks like our nice warm summer nights are coming to an end for the year. I've noticed many more leaves than a couple weeks ago on the ground also. |
