Title: suddenly....i'm scraping foot pegs Post by misterbbq on 08/27/13 at 07:05:59 luckily, it was going around a tight corner. i'm heavy....270 lbs. and this is a new occurrence for me. did i suddenly get awesome at cornering? tire pressure checks out....anything else i need to be aware of mechanical-wise before i start hanging off the edge of the bike and scraping my knee and stuff? |

Other than that, live with it -- it means you are compressing the shocks and leaning over enough to get a scub. It happens in the mountains all the time. |

Well you're probably just getting more comfortable in your own abilities and with the bike and pushing the envelope a bit more ;) |

Title: Re: suddenly....i'm scraping foot pegs Post by WD on 08/27/13 at 11:49:08 Wait until you drag a floorboard, that will get your attention... I touched an old Panhead down hard enough to rip one. I wouldn't let my stepson get his mc learner's permit until he could drag the peg ends in a circle to either direction, around me. As well as rear wheel only swerving stops, I took the front brake lever off until he had that maneuver down pat. |

Find a good corner you like, makepasses thru, Thats how I got it down, spend 15minutes runing up & back every so often,, Be careful about hitting a corner you cant see thru at speed, .Younever know when some jerk is gonna spillpaintor drop a 2X4..rightin your line, be careful, |
