While surfing and roaming (incidentally, looking for answers to "Harley noob" questions) I found this:

225 miles, 7 hors riding time means if you start early in the morning from the nearby resort of lake Almanor (22 miles further north) you can have plenty of fun... 225 miles of it! :o)
and still be in Willits :-? wherever... for dinner and an overnight stop...

Maybe Verslagen and other CA riders should advise here...
