Hi fellow Savage riders,

I was out for a ride tonight and noticed in a window front that my brake light does not illuminate if I use the front brake but does if I use the rear. Any suggestions where to start before I get deep into the electrical system? Thanks,

First check the brake switch, pull the connector off the switch and
with the ignition switch on jump between the two posts in the connector.
If you get a brake light doing this, replace the switch.

Be careful with that switch, if indeed you have an 86, the switch is small and the wires are thin. I speak from experience. :-?

I have an 86 as well. That switch is tiny but it is also cheap. I got mine from the stealership and it was still under $5.
