Stripepd down Harley FXR frame... top frame look familiar ? http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/c7e/a5e/c7ea5e99-700a-45ef-87a2-199540fb5625 http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/338/a17/338a178e-e51e-4488-9b47-3114efec9cb0 AND the way the frame curves and bends under the seat and towards the rear wheel... 8-) |
Title: Re: Harley copied the Savage ? Post by PhantomII on 08/08/13 at 09:25:57 Well the FXR was first built in 1982 so maybe Suzuki copied Harley. |

Yeah, I have to say in my own opinion that just about every Asian made motorcycle company copied Harley as some point or another. |
Title: Re: Harley copied the Savage ? Post by Badass94Cad on 08/08/13 at 13:25:36 I thought the FXR was a Sportster-based frame with a Wide Glide front end and a big twin...or something along those lines. But yeah, I'd say most of the Japanese manufacturers emulate the Harley designs. |
Title: Re: Harley copied the Savage ? Post by Dave on 08/09/13 at 09:17:45 That sure is a short looking swing arm.......and the shocks mount behind the axle? Weird! |
Title: Re: Harley copied the Savage ? Post by WD on 08/09/13 at 09:35:54 Swing arm is standard length, mounts in the back of the transmission. Shocks behind axle give a better visual AND a smoother ride. FX chassis has been around since the early nose cone Shovelhead days. It works, now called the Dyna. Some minor updates over the 70-72 originals, but the same basic layout. |
Title: Re: Harley copied the Savage ? Post by Dancomer on 08/09/13 at 13:33:02 that is hilarious, i never thought about that when i tore my friends down, very similar look besides the beast of a motor and telescopic front end |
